Guatemala to raise awareness of history and dispute with Belize with 227,000 "army" to take case to ICJ

21 August 2017 The Government of Guatemala launched an information campaign to raise awareness of the history and the long-standing territorial dispute with Belize, which will involve an "army" of 227,000 teachers, in order to bring the case to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
The plan promoted by the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs seeks to teach four million students on territorial, maritime and island litigation with British colonial, which according to Chancellor Carlos Raul Morales comes from before the Conquest.
"It will be a campaign of sensitization, not politics so that the population also knows the subject about Belize before the popular consultation," explained the head of the Guatemalan diplomacy during the launching of the program in the headquarters of the Ministry of Education (Mineduc).

Why Visit Belize on September Celebration

Starting on National Day and culminating on Independence Day, two weeks of city-wide patriotic celebrations keep the locals dancing in the streets. The Belize Carnival, a street festival held during this time, sees Belizeans don colorful costumes and dance to Caribbean beats. Meanwhile, Belize country-wide is also celebrated the patriotic month of September.  The September Celebrations are a pair of holidays in Belize only eleven days apart. They are Battle of St. George's Caye Day (alternatively, National Day), September 10, celebrated since 1898; Independence Day, September 21, celebrated since 1981. A calendar of activities has traditionally been held every year centered on both events. Annual traditions such as the Queen of the Bay Pageant, concerts and talent shows, the Citizens Parade on the Tenth and Uniform Parade on the 21st and Carnival (traditionally held on the middle Saturday but has been held on other days) add to the Celebrations. Mechanical Ride's in Corozal Part 2.

Usually, the ride's come to Corozal, shortly after the San Juaqin Fiesta event. Once a year, it is alway's assemble at the Civic Center in Corozal. This year it is a little different. Two different place's and two events will happen at the same time. Half of the rides are located in front of the old Social Security office and the other half of the rides are located at the Civic center. This past weekend a number of families came out to enjoy the first weekend of the Mechanical Rides 2017.  Kids, that are still on vacation are lucky enough to enjoy the rides this past weekend. It is alway's getting more fun every year as many surprising things they bring for the kids to enjoy right before school opens. So, to all corozalenos come out and bring out your family for an amazing weekend something to do in Corozal kids can enjoy.
