Second Day on the National Cornfest held in Corozal Rainbow Beach

National Corn Coconut & BBQ Festival 2017

The National Corn Coconut & BBQ Festival will be held July 14th, 15th and 16th 2017 at RAINBOW BEACH COROZAL TOWN. Food, Meat, Fire, Beer , Live Music, Steel Pan Band, Cultural Performances, pageantry, bartender mix drinks competition, Bachata Dance, Limbo, Coconut husking, Salbutes and Tacos. Saturday the event commenced with the opening of the Panerifix Steel Band from Belmopan. They play great during the day. Hear's a list below what took place during the day's event.

National Cornfest is A festival designed to celebrate culture, music, the best of Belize in traditional and modern twist on the main foods, corn, coconut, BBQ, meat, fire, beers, live music, Competitions:Latin dance competition Coconut huxing, Corn on the Cob, Tacos Eating, BBQ and Creole, unusual games, bartender faceoff, parade and pageantry.

Adopt a Puppy in Corozal

We are having our very first Puppy Adoption Day this Saturday, July 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Art in the Park.  The Corozal Animal Program table will be across from the Rotary Popcorn Machine.

We have ten beautiful puppies to be adopted.  Please let us know if you would like to help by taking care of a puppy while we talk to potential adopters.

Car accident in Corozal

This afternoon there is a report of a car accident that flipped over in Corozal. 

According to reports two persons were travelling in a vehicle heading toward Chetumal when they lost control of the vehicle near the "Tumbaito" curve on Chan Chen Cutt Off.
At this time the two persons where rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital. At this time Their condition is still being investigated. People are asked to be precaution when travelling to this road curves while travelling to Chetumal.

BTL in San Pedro Ambergris Caye donates to Raise Me Up

Belize Telemedia Limited comes through for the children of the island!
Raise Me Up has received a $3,500 donation to go towards the San Pedro Kids Club, an after-school activities program to help educate children in social skills, sportmanship, etc.
The program currently has over 200 registered children, and will resume it's regular schedule when the school year commences again.
Thank you, BTL, for being an active company that is taking initiative in being a great leader in our community! Kudos!

WELCOME TO THE SUMMER WAVE To'on Masehualoon ( We are Maya) event held in Corozal NICH

Today, I got invited to blog about The Mayan History To'on Masehualoon ( We are Maya)   inside the Corozal House of Culture. Unfortunately, I never get invited unless I get approved to go take photos of an event. Or,  just my voluntary. Mayan history today, has been forgotten a bit. Happily,  I can say that the Mayan History is not forgotten by the old generation who are alive today around Belize. They are happy to teach younger generation the importance of their culture.  I am happy to announce that  To'on Masehualoon ( We are Maya) was organized to teach this group of kids a hand full of Mayan History and learn something about the Mayan Culture in Corozal. This is how it all began. 
Today, was the opening of the Ceremony SUMMER WAVE To'on Masehualoon ( We are Maya) for a full week of activities and it commenced at 1pm. A Mayan Translator Miss Adela Pederson  came out to translate a group of kids to learn Mayan words and how to use them when talking to Mayan people. surp…
